Breckenridge "BRECK" is looking for a new home preferrable on acreage where he can be what he was bred to be - a watch dog. This sweet polar bear is very calm and despite his scary size, is very friendly. We do not think he would do well with young active children, he may try to 'herd' them, or misunderstand their energetic playfulness. And although he loves his belly rubs, he may object to a child trying to hug his face. He's a great guard dog and has spent the past couple years guarding chickens and turkeys. He definitely enjoys the outdoors as well as good nap. We love him so much & are hoping to place him with a Fuzzypups Family to make sure he gets the love & care he deserves as we have seen the huge hearts of our Fuzzypups! owners. He is a double coated dog, so does fine outside in all sorts of weather, however, he will hang in the house, and make himself comfortable on your couch with or without an invite. Pyrenees are bred as guard dogs. They have a very intense sense of hearing and will bark to alert whatever is sneaking on or around your property that they are there to protect their owner and property. It's not unusual for Breck to wake us at 3 a.m. when he hears the coyotes creeping around. This is normal behavior for this breed, and is an exceptional quality for a guard dog. He will do well with a big back yard, and rides well in any car making himself comfortable for a ride along. Greg took him camping/fishing and Breck was a great companion for that. He can be walked on a leash, just know he is strong, and needs a strong hand to keep him in check.
