Puppy Costs and Warrantees:
*For currently listed puppies and their individual adoption fee go to our AVAILABILITY - link. In general, puppies from 10-14 weeks of age are $850. We discount puppies as they get older. Tiny tots will be discounted at a slower rate as they are smaller. If there is not an adoption fee on an individual puppy on the availability page, please call for the adopt fee.
*Our preferred mode of payment would be a local check or cash. We are able to accept VISA or MASTERCARD will charge you a "processing fee" of 4%. For an American Express, the fee is 8%. We do not accept Discover or out-of-state checks.
*We use the term "adoption" . Pet Stores sell puppies, they do not screen for ownership or care who takes their pets as long as they get paid. We Care! We adopt out our puppies: screening interviewing, and educating potential families, as we want forever homes for our puppies and this will only work with commitment from the potential new family and a match of personality of puppy to family.
*We place puppies as family pets only and register our Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise litters with APR. If you are looking for a puppy to show; you should purchase a puppy from an established AKC show breeder.
*Breeding a dog is a profession, and should not be undertaken by the average householder as a hobby or a one time experience for your children. If you are looking for a puppy to breed, the adoption cost would be a minimum of 2-3 times higher than a pet adoption and we choose which puppy we will release for breeding. To adopt a breeding dog from us, you must undergo multiple interviews with ourselves and our vets. Your first step will be to contact Sherry at 308-247-2378.
*We usually do not place puppies before they are 10-12 weeks old, and may hold puppies until older if we feel they are not yet ready for new homes.
*Generally our puppies adoption fees are as follows:
10-15 weeks: $850 15 + 1 day -20 weeks: $750 20 + 1 day-24 weeks: $650 over 24 weeks - varies
*NOTE when we adopt out puppies we want them to go to their new homes as soon as possible. If you need us to hold a puppy for more than 3 days after you pick him/her out, we are happy to do so, but will charge a babysitting fee of $10/day. Any puppy held will need to be paid in full including the babysitting fee.
*We provide a 4 generation pedigree on all of our Bichon & Shih Tzu puppies at the time of adoption. For obvious reasons, no pedigrees are available on Shih Chon puppies, however, we designed a PETigree for these puppies, which has photos as well as lineage. Photos on a typed pedigree available on request for our Bichon and Shih Tzu as well.
*We have gone to great length in research and expense to have quality breeding parents. We are breeding for the educated pet-owner. Therefore, you are required to sign a spay/neuter agreement on our puppies. When you provide proof of your spay/neuter we will provide registration papers on the puppy.
*Posted adoption fees on our AVAILABILITY link are a local price and do not include any shipping costs to place a puppy out of state. Due to local demand, most of our puppies are placed locally. However, we will gladly ship a puppy to an out of state approved adoptive home. (weather permitting). For a puppy to ship via the airlines, without being a carry-on passenger, temperatures must be above 40 degrees and below 85 degrees.
We prefer to ship via United Airlines, as they normally have direct flights from Denver to most major cities. There might be a little less expensive fares with transfers with another airlines, however, we want the best for our puppies travel. We have found United serves these needs most of the time.
The cost to ship a puppy is as follows UPDATED 04/15/2011: (subject to change without notice): Airfare: $230- $320, health certificate (required by airlines and must be obtained from vet): $100 -(w/rabies: $115), travel fees and tolls to airport and vet: $50, kennel & blanket: $85 depending on size. Total estimated shipping costs: $465-$555 depending on airline and crate size
*Due to changing weather patterns, we will not guarantee we can fly a puppy during hot summer months or cold winter months. A general rule of thumb; the weather must be cooler than 80 degrees, and warmer than 45 degrees for it to be safe to fly a puppy*. If the weather is not cooler than 80 degrees or warmer than 45 degrees you will have to fly to Denver to pick up your puppy. If this is the case, many owners have chosen to do a one day turn around to avoid additional costs of hotels and/or rental car. If you choose this option, we are happy to meet you at the airport with the puppy, The costs you will incur will be a cost for our toll fees and the vet health certificate. If you live somewhere nifty, like San Diego, we might be able to personally transport puppy to you for the normal flying fees, to sneak in a vacation.
*DELTA DASH states they can safely fly a puppy with temps as cold as 10 degrees -
*We will warrant your puppy against contagious disease for 8 days, and for congenital defects for one year. We would gladly exchange a puppy for you if a genetic problem occurs. OR: We understand most owners love their pets from the day they take them home and, unlike many breeders, we will gladly pay the vet bill up to the adoption fee for whatever health issue is involved, or refund the adoption fee and let you keep your puppy if a genetic problem occurs.
*Please remember your puppy is a baby and as such will undergo growth cycles. He would love to join you on a short walk around the block or you can purchase a doggie stroller if you want him to join you for an extended walk. Do not expect a new puppy to join you on a 1-2 mile walk until he is fully grown.
*We will do our best to have our male puppies neutered before placement into new homes. Girls will need to be spay by you by age 6 months.
*It is common for Shih-Tzu to have an umbilical hernia, as a Shih Chon is a mix, they too may have an umbilical hernia, and on rare occasions a Bichon may have an umbilical hernia. If we neuter a puppy with a hernia, we will have the hernia fixed at the time of surgery. However, on rare occasions the hernia will need an additional surgery later in life. We will not warrant against this later surgery. Females with a hernia can easily be fixed when they are spay.
*Your puppy will be micro-chipped for identification purposes. We register the puppy under our name. At the time of adoption, you will be charged a transfer fee to change the puppies registration from our name to yours and provide pre-paid paperwork to do so. If your puppy gets lost, it is the fastest and surest way of you being reunited with him!
*Regarding our "Wait List" please understand when we work off of a wait list, we go by a 1st pick, 2nd pick, 3rd pick, etc. listing. We try to get an idea of color and gender for the wait list, however, the wait list can change if a person who is before you on the wait list changes their mind on color or gender. IE: if the 1st pick person told us they wanted a black & white female Shih Chon, then come to visit and fall in love with a gold and white male, they have the option of taking that puppy. That is, unfortunately, the way the list falls, and you will have to choose another puppy or wait for another litter. All options on puppy choices are based on the date of an application and deposit being received. Therefore, if you are adamant on what puppy gender or color you want, you need to be a 1st pick of a litter to insure you get what you want.
*We are professional breeders licensed with the state and county, therefore your adoption fee is subject to a sales tax of 4
*We require vet reference from you on our application; do your research, check our Vet References also:

Additionally, our puppies are treated for parasites with Pyrantal, Panacur and/or Metronidozole and Albon.
*We have found our puppies have bad reaction to the Fort Dodge products, especially rabies. Please check with your vet as to which company he purchases his vaccines from, and if it is Ft. Dodge, please request he use an alternate brand.
*Our puppies are very social. They have been held and played with by children as well as adults, and have interacted with many other dogs. Your puppy will want and need attention from you.

DEPOSIT AND REFUND POLICY:
FIRST RULE: If you are not certain you want a puppy from us, do not send a deposit! DEPOSITS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE!
To reserve a puppy, we require a deposit. DEPOSITS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE! Once we have committed to you a puppy, we tell others it is not available. We do not usually take back up applications, therefore if you change your mind, you leave us high and dry looking for a new home for a puppy.
If you request a certain breeds gender and/or color it could possibly take up to a year to adopt.
Puppies are placed per order of application AND deposit. If you submit an application but no deposit, you will not have priority order in placement. IE: 1st pick of a litter will go to the first approved application with appropriate deposit. If you are first with an application, but have not submitted a deposit, and another submits an application with a deposit, that person will have 1st pick of the litter.
Puppies are placed via a "wait list". If you are not 1st pick of a litter, the puppy you may fall in love with in photos may go to another. Additionally, even if you are 1st pick of a litter, we reserve the right to take first pick of the litter ourselves.
Should timing on a litter not work for you due to changing circumstances, deposits are transferable to another litter. However, this deposit is only transferable for 6 months after time of initial application. There-after it is forfeit.
At our discretion if we feel the pending adoption will not work, deposits may be refunded and the contract voided.
At our discretion deposits are refundable if you do not like the quality of the puppy we have available to you at the time of adoption. Deposits are NOT REFUNDABLE if you change your mind, or purchase a puppy elsewhere.
