SHIH CHON and BICH TZU? 

What is this?  Something new??

                          What the heck is going on?

I thought Frise were only white.
    I read the book, It said "that’s right."

But looking outside what do I see?
    Colored Bichons, busy as bees.

You’ve heard of Coton’s, Bolognese and Havanese.
    But I’ll bet you never heard of these.

Our stud-man Beau went next door to have "fun"
    So we now have these mixes. My Gosh, what’s he done?

Do we change our name, close up our doors,
    Bury them under the kitchen floor?

Or do we go on, shake our head, have some fun
    Make up a poem about a "deed" already done?

Come visit the "Ranch", you will be surprised
    At these cute little puppies, unique to the eyes.

    INTERNET "LURKERS" GOT HOLD OF OUR POEM, AND POSTED IT ON THE VARIOUS MESSAGE BOARDS.   ONE PARTICULAR RESCUE GROUP AND SOME SHOW BREEDERS ARE HAVING A FIT AT OUR MIXES AND OUR POEM TO THEM.  (SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR)  SO, THE FOLLOWING POEM WAS WRITTEN AS OUR ANSWER FOR THEM!   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Certain people say mixes should be taboo

  They abhor the Yorkie, the Peke and Cocker-Poo

This should be of no surprise

  Since look perfection is all important in their eyes.

A mix who is healthy, social and sweet

  Is only a “mutt” running loose on the street.

The Schnoodle! My goodness, who would want one of those

  When a Schnauzer or Poodle is perfect in prose

You must buy from a breeder who’s dogs run the test

  Of looks that are perfect.  Only AKC’s best

He may be inbred, his dad may be his brother.

   But his looks they are perfect, so don’t buy from another.

And please don’t mind if your pups 9 months old

  It may take that long to determine if the pup can be sold.

Or better, not a puppy, but a rescue is the deed.

  A puppy is a-moral, while rescues have needs.

No one should raise puppies.  It is truly a crime

  When dogs are in shelters, serving their time.

Further, don’t rescue if you choose not to show and breed

  Because you’ll be accused of the nasty word greed.

    You surely don’t rescue to do a good deed!
